Bedroom painting seems straightforward, but the details matter significantly. The quality of the cut-in lines along the ceiling and baseboards, the consistency of the finish on the walls, the precision of the trim work around doors and window casings — these are the elements that determine whether a painted bedroom looks professionally done or like a weekend DIY project.
Cornerstone Pro Painting has been painting bedrooms across Toronto and the GTA since 2009. We use premium, low-VOC paints that are safe for the room where you spend a third of your life, and we work efficiently to minimize the disruption to your household. A standard bedroom typically takes one to two days from prep to final coat.
Step 1: Consultation & Colour Selection — We discuss your goals, preferred palette, and any specific requirements — accent wall, closet interior, trim colour — and help you land on choices you'll love waking up to.
Step 2: Room Preparation — Furniture is moved and protected, floor is covered, switch plates and outlet covers are removed, and all surfaces are cleaned and patched before any paint is applied.
Step 3: Priming Where Needed — New drywall, repaired areas, and significant colour changes (especially dark-to-light) receive a proper primer coat before finish paint.
Step 4: Painting — Ceiling, Walls, Trim — We paint in the correct order: ceiling first, then walls, then trim and doors. Each surface receives two full coats with proper drying time between coats.
Step 5: Detail & Touch-Up — After the room dries, we inspect every edge and corner, address any imperfections, reinstall hardware, and leave the room ready to move back into.
We understand that your bedroom is a personal space and that having a crew in it for a day or two is a real inconvenience. We minimize that disruption by working efficiently, keeping our tools and materials organized, and leaving no trace of our presence other than the finished walls. We use low-VOC paints throughout to ensure the room is healthy to sleep in within 24–48 hours of completion.
A standard bedroom (under 200 sq ft) takes one day for prep, priming if needed, and two coats. Larger master bedrooms with extensive trim may take a day and a half to two days.
